Nostalgia
Nostalgia was a final project created to reflect on the life I had living in Costa Rica. The scenes focus on places and things I miss the most about home
Planning
Initially, I started my project with a storyboard outlining what graphics I would need to create for my animation. I created a list of my favorite places in Costa Rica and then sketched them out frame by frame keeping note of movement I would need to account for when creating the graphics. I then sketched out each of the frames to upload into Adobe Illustrator.

Process
I brought elements into individual files to practice animating my graphics along with researching through articles and youtube videos.
Stylistic Choices
The goal of my motion graphic was reflect on my life in Costa Rica. I wanted to show this through the use of texture and the way the elements of my animation are arranged. When coming up with the arrangement of my motion graphic, I was largely inspired by scrapbooking and the look of construction paper. Something about pieces of construction paper being glued together to create art felt nostalgic to me, which is what I was going for with this piece. When creating my graphics, I imagined that each element was a piece of paper that I could move. This made it easier for me to know how these elements would act when put into motion. When editing my final production in Adobe After Effects, I used noise and grain to add the texture of construction paper over my memories of Costa Rica.
